ABOUT US

HMN Huruma Group is a non-profit organization located at Matema ward in Kyela district to a south-eastern part of Tanzania along the shore of Lake Nyasa to the foot slope of Livingstone.

HMN HURUMA Gr. was founded by  Rehema Kabunga in 2003 who organized a group of women in a Moravian church at Matema to support helpless and old people living in rural areas. Later on 2004 she experienced large number of orphans following death of her relatives due to AIDs. Then she decided to organize and register a group in 2008 using a designed program called Huduma ya Msingi Nyumbani (HMN) they were able to visit and provide home basic needs to the helpless families  in rural areas. Later on a group expanded its structure and activities to which they were able to provide more support to orphan and vulnerable children, out-of-school youth,  widows and People living with HIV.

OUR MISSION

To facilitate the acquisition of home basic needs to vulnerable people in rural areas by improving their means of socio-economic growth. 

Our mission is fulfilled by two designed program HMN (Huduma ya Msingi Nyumbani) and HYDP (Huruma Youth Development Program). Our programs are aimed to generate abilities to vulnerable people to reduce the cost of living and provide a sustainable means of generating income. To us vulnerable people are those at risk of inability to access quality education, prone to malnutrition, AIDS and other infectious diseases, unemployment, limitation to knowledge and skills expansion and inability to cover exceeding expenses hence fails to improve future livelihood.

BELIEFS

There are different common problems which hinder the progress of human being. We all wants to live heathy, peacefully and capable of attaining and fulfilling our dream/goal(s). Things like Diseases, Dependences, Food insecurity, Poverty, Ignorance, insecurity to land access, inability to produce and many more related problems tends to hinder progress  in rural areas. The effects of each problem depends much on its causes and the level it is affecting starting with individual to global level. There is a need to change these unfavorable condition manifested by those problems. 

We believe that; Changes are possible at Home. If we realy want to see a healthy and peacefully society then we need to initiates changes at home level (Individual and families). And they can learn, change, practice, benefit at their homes then they will help the others and society in general.
